Dean Dalibor Kraljik in Autograf

An excellent column by our dean, Dalibor Kraljik, in Autograf:

“I asked myself 15 years ago, and I still ask today: how is it possible that a society which declares itself and considers itself so religious — I would even say devout — is at the same time unhappy, anxious, materialistic, and unfortunately, corrupt?

Well, it is possible, because true faith is not a label or a declaration, but an inspiration for a change in life, behavior, speech — a transformation of our person and our mind. That’s what we needed back then, and what we so desperately need now — myself included, and very likely you, who are reading this right now. But even if I’m right, how can this be achieved? Actually, it’s quite simple, because as Aldous Huxley said: ‘The only part of the universe you can be certain of improving is your own self.’

So, let’s try to change our minds, our way of thinking, and our view of the world so that we trust each other more, are more honest with one another, offer each other more smiles, love each other more, are kinder to each other, and are more present for one another…

And if you can’t do it alone, ask God for help and for the transformation of your mind. He’s done it before in the lives of others, He’s doing it today, and He’ll keep doing it — so why not for you too? That is true metanoia — transformation and renewal of the mind — which we all (still) need.”
