dr. Redžo Trako
Redžo Trako (b. 1958) is a Bosniak freelance scientist from Preočica near Vitez. After primary school, he was educated at the Military Gymnasium in Belgrade and at the Technical Military Academy in Zagreb, and then worked for years in Bosnia and Herzegovina as a graduate military engineer of the JNA. After refusing to participate in the inter-ethnic war conflict in 1992, he moved to Daruvar with his family, in refugee status. Unable to find a permanent job, he left for Northern Ireland and continued his education at Belfast Bible College and Queen's University of Belfast, where he received his doctorate in 2007. At the same time, he participated in the founding of the international organization Friends of Bosnia and Croatia in Northern Ireland, with whose help he initiated and led the project of the first complete translation of the Bible into the Bosnian language, as well as the translation of a representative Bible commentary (New Bible Commentary, IVP). He is a participant in several international conferences on the role of religion in society, a member of the editorial board of the scientific journal Journal of Culture and Religion, as well as a regular member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts in Salzburg (Austria) (world religions).
